What Does Soaking Through A Pad Actually Mean?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Akron, OH

I'm experiencing heavy bleeding between periods. Aka. Breakthrough bleeding. Very bad cramping and as the days go on its just getting heavier. So what does bleeding through a pad actually mean? that if I don't change it, the blood will leak on my clothes? That's what's happening but not front to back just at the sides. Like where the wings would be. This was an hour and a half time span. I don't want to go to the Er to hear go see your obgyn as I have an appointment with him in a week.

I agree that amount of bleeding is definately not normal. You should not be bleeding through a pad that fast. IDK why your bleeding is only on the sides not also on the front and back, it might be from if you are laying or sitting down a certain way? You definately need to see your OB/GYN and get that under control because you'll start becoming iron and B12 deficient. I used to have the same problem. I would have really bad cramping and super heavy bleeding where I was having to change my pad every hour. At night I would always bleed through the pad which means it bled through my pad and onto my underwear, pj bottoms and bed sheets. Bleeding that heavily and quickly is not normal and seeing your doctor is the best choice to get this controlled.
