A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi. Has anyone developed virus-like body aches and/or joint pains with progestogen tablet therapy
I'm taking Norethisterone for 6 wks. Ovarian stabbing began at same time as all over body aches began after 2 wks. It went away after a day or two but came back. Then went away and came back
8 days ago body aches restarted so severely I was crying with the pain. The aching is now in my upperback, chest shoulders and my fingers. I've cut myself down to 2 tabs per day (endo minimum). It's like a mix… read more

I have had all of those symptoms. Generally, I am sick, feeling all of the time. Aches, fever, chills, night sweats, joint pain and more. You are not alone.

I was on that medicine for 3 months and that hurt my entire body. Everywhere aches an I began to feel like an old person. At one point my left hand started to bother me with arthritic type pain, cramps and numbness then it shifted to my right hand. I could barely stand properly or lay down in comfort. And when I stopped takkkbvthem I had the worst pains I have ever experienced in my life. I’m pretty sure they are similar to giving birth times 100. Never again would I ever go on those. Stay away if
You can. Zoladex injection is much more bearable but is more costly.

Thanks for that. It got so debilitating and no sign of easing up so I went to the docs. He's sent me for blood tests to check out quite a few different things. I don't mind. I've been struggling to work for 6 weeks now. So I need to find out what it is to see if it can be improved. Thanks for your kind words. It helps to know this isn't so strange.
