Anyone Else Diagnosed With Servere Endometriosis And Told They Are Too High Risk For Surgery??
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had surgery 5 years ago, however the Dr could remove only a small amount and unstick my bowel and uterus. I also had a cyst on my right ovary that couldn't be removed as he couldn't see my ovaries due to the severe amount of endometriosis and severe adhesions. Five years later my pain is worst that it has ever been and bleeding all the time. I also had an ultra sound two months ago that revealed I have an enlarged ovary measuring 6.9 x 4.2 x 5.6cm. Previous measurement was 3.6 x 4.1 x 5.0 cm… read more

You need to see an endo specialist who is willing to go to bat for your internal organs! Ordinary doctors don't necessarily have the skill to do such an operation, and therefore they shouldn't, but I just had complex surgery to deal with enlarged ovaries/endometriomas, stuck bowels, bladder endo, etc. etc. It took four hours. This was Dr. Andrew Cook at the Vital Health Institute in Los Gatos, CA, there is another Doctor in Palo Alto (at Stanford? Dr. Nezhat?), also Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta, Georgia. There are likely others, I just found ones close to me after realizing that I had to take matters into my own hands. These are doctors who are willing to do the complex surgery, painstakingly dissecting organs from each other, and repairing damaged structures, such as large bowels, bladders, ureters, etc. They are out there, and you deserve to be seen by them.

I think I am going through the same thing. All the dr.s tell me to leave it alone cause it might turn out worse but when your in pain you will do anything. I think you need a hysterectomy cause they usually say that if you get pregnet or have a hysterectomy that it washes the endo away. In my case no I was 20 years old whn I had my 1st surgery & the endo & adhesions still kept coming back & I am 65 years old & still in bad pain.

That's excellent, hopefully you will back on your feet in no time. It's a long surgery to heal from.

I'm feeling pretty good, a little sore still. It's only 9 days post-op. I don't know if I'll be able to tell how much things have changed until I'm healed up. But relieved to know all that endo got extracted!
