Has anyone been given the implanon implant for Endo? Or is it a big no no. No matter what option I consider, neither sounds pleasant :/
I never had implant but i do agree with beegee answer
I had the implant for about 2 years. It was fine for 6 months, then came irregular bleeding and symptoms, toward the end terrible pains and non-stop bleeding. Then when I had it removed it was stuck. She had to make a second incision to remove it. My sister and best friend both had the implant as well and have similar experiences as me. My advice is to not go on it. But it is your choice
Hi Liliana Is it suppose to help the endo or just used for birth control? If it's for birth control can't they give you a pill? I'm not very educated on birth control cause I couldn't have kids cause of the endo & I never took the pill in my life time. I'm still taking estradiol & provera to help the endo & a lot of the doctors think I should not be taking it cause I'm past the menopause stage. I tried to stop it before & I had a lot of pain but now I'm wondering since I had the surgery 2 months ago if maybe I should try & get off of it. Again I'm afraid to try anything new for fear what will happen. I hope someone can help you with this & I'd like to learn more about it. Keep in touch.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I agree with you there, I'm cautious when I try something new. I'm bad enough as it is! What's the point in taking something that's going to put you in a worse state that you're already in!
I'm leary of side effects no matter what it's for. I would really look into it. I always worry about weight gain. I remember they put me on Danazol years ago to shrink a cyst & it made me gain weight. That's why I am leary of any drug.
