A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello Beautiful Ladies
I hope that you are doing well. I am looking to collect stories about people's experiences with excision surgeries (in the US) and how they funded them for a project I am working on. I will be having my @excision via vaporization surgery this January.

The hospital, labwork, pathologist, and anthesiologist are covered 100% with my ppo insurance. The two surgeons cost and pre/post doctor's visits up to 3 months are out-pocket expense. Which covers pre-surgery visit with Dr nurse to answer any questions in regards to the bowel cleanse, hospital stay, pain management, and any questions I may have about the surgery's procedures. And also a pre-surgery visit with the Functional Medicine Nutritionist for 45 minutes to go over my pre/post surgery diet and detox cleanse. It will also cover my after surgery doctor's visits for 3 months, which include my Lab, Pathology Reports, DVD of the surgery, photos of the Endo found. And because the doctor's medical visits are out of pocket I will be given a discounted rate if I want to keep seeing my doctor and his staff after the 3 months. I will keep seeing him as my gynecologist every year. I will also see the Functional Medicine Nutritionist to balance my hormones because I will have my uterus remove.

To cover my out pocket expenses for the surgeons, medical visits, and the nutritional products I opened a public donation account, asked family members directly, asked my bookkeeping clients if they would prepaid for some of my services, asked my landlord to skip one month's rent and pay it at a later time, asked my spiritual congregation for help with my food fund, and use my flexible medical insurance account. I also reduced my business and personal expenses.

I had excision via vaporization with Dr. Ken Sinervo at the Center of Endometriosis Care in Atlanta, GA in SEP 2015. For the first time in my life since puberty at age 12, I'm endo pain free.
