What Is The Best Type Of Bc Pills To Manage Symptoms
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I have literally tried every type of birth control and there's always some huge negative side effect. All my doctors said birth control help manage symptoms and the hormones help endo from growing or getting worse
either I have horrible mood swIngs, acne, or super decreased sex drive.

I was on minestrin for a year which is newer, very low dose. no side effects, stopped my periods, it was great. Then all of a sudden started getting my period very heavy and painful
I was now put on… read more

Wish I had the answer. It would help so many of us.

I too have tried just about every bc pill over the years. It helps for a year or so and then it just stops working. Doctors just up the doservice to a stronger bc pill. Now after a year of medically induced menopause I am back at square one too.

Tried lupron injections but have low bone density and had to stop. Tried Mirena for three years... yes it stopped the 6 week long bleeding but again did nothing for the pain. Added Visanne in combination now on Fibristal ( might be misspelled ).

Starting to think the hormone treatment is not the answer.

I was on Triphasal. (Not sure of spelling)
It controlled the Endo I never knew I had for 25years. I decided to go off the pill when I was 43 and within months had severe right sided pain that required emergency surgery and the diagnosis of Stage 3 Endometriosis.
I went back on a different tri-phasic pill, (previous one no longer available in Canada) but never could gain complete control of the disease again.
Now I use the Nuva Ring which gives me some predictability of symptoms and a regular cycle but I don't believe much symptom control.

Well with out them I don't sleep and can only eat very few things so to me they are a God sent !! I have few extreme flare ups..so if you can get them for a while I highly recommend them my pelvic floor is usually super tight to the point were I actually can't evacuate my bowel..hasn't seemed to help much in that department but physio sure has
