Hi, I'm in Canada. I do not have a prescription for marijuana (that's not how it works out here quite yet) but my PCP and a reproductive health counselor have both okayed my use of marijuana to treat endometriosis complications. It is not a cure in any way but it definitely takes some of the edge of dealing with endo flare ups.

Without the marijuana I take worse care of myself and end up in way more pain. I tried all other avenues of treatment before admitting to my doctors that marijuana has been one of the only things that has helped treat symptoms. I can't take pain killers because they make me vomit and I also have trouble getting an appetite when I'm hurting. Particularly bad cramps tend to make me vomit as well. When I have the marijuana (usually a hybrid strand that is a little heavier on the indica side), I can get an appetite and not throw up my food or NSAIDS (that you have to take with food). The marijuana also helps me with getting started exercising/stretching.

Basically, marijuana has actually given me more control over my day to day routine by helping me to be able to establish a routine. It's good to see other women curious about this because I sot of ostracize myself because of my marijuana use. I grew up with the D.A.R.E. program and assume everyone around me has the "Say no to drugs!" attitude. Without out marijuana, sleeping and eating would once again become a highly stressful chore. The trick is to not let yourself go over board with your dose. Depending on your personal tolerance, which you'd have to figure out for yourself, I'd say during cramping and bleeding have all you want, if you OD the worst thing that will happen is that you'll want to eat something and go to sleep. When it's time to exercise I will take 3-4 tokes from a bong or bowl, which I'm guessing is less than half a gram, so not very much is needed. The craziest most unexpected thing I noticed with the marijuana is that it helps me concentrate (which is the total opposite of what I learned as a kid). The most frustrating thing about endo for me is when my train of thought gets cut off by pain. I'll be in the middle of a sentence and completely forget what I intended to say because of some cramp or another. When this happens I know it's time to have some marijuana. It's like I can feel the difference in my thought process. The pains will happen but I can ride them out without forgetting what I'm doing or saying.

I hope this helps without being T.M.I.

Castor oil packs are supposed to help, and medmarijuana hasn't helped me much but I don't like the way I feel on it. I used to have access to a thc/cbd 50/50 mix chocolate that helped sometimes. But the company that made the one I liked when out of business.
