I stopped taking Visanne a week ago to try to get pregnant. The pain came back full swing. Everything hurts. There's no way I would even let my husband near me.
I've spoken to my doctor several times and he tells me to take an @advil. @Advil does NOT work. Nothing helps with the pain except morphine (which knocks me out) and Visanne (which I can't get pregnant on).
In desperation, I started taking Visanne again. It will take time to work again but… read more
Oh gosh I'm so sorry that sounds horrible. I know there's a condition, that isn't anything to do with endo, where the vagina and the vaginal opening get very very sensitive and it's incredibly painful to have sex. Those people seem to use a numbing gel on the vulva. It may be worth looking into that and coupling it up with some pretty heavy duty painkillers. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the condition, I just saw a video on it recently.
I take 2 500mg of Naproxen and 8 co-drydramol (10mg of codeine and 500mg of paracetamol in one tablet) a day when I need to deal with my extreme pain. It spaces me out but if I take it before the pain gets too too bad it does a pretty good job. Perhaps if you were able to get prescribed those and some numbing gel you'd get some relief. It's just a suggestion and if you think they won't work that's absolutely fine! Fingers crossed your doctor becomes more understanding! xxx
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member thank you SO much for your suggestions. I'll ask my doctor about Naproxen. I've actually read about that condition as well. For me, it's more the intense cramping and all I want to do is lay down with a heating pad and sleep. There's no way I want to be romantic with my husband during that time. I've forced myself in the past, but the cramping is so bad we have to stop. This time I don't even want to try I'm so exhausted from the pain!
People like you are why I come on this site. You're so kind xx
