A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

hello all
I am scheduled for a hysterectomy on july 10th. i am only 24 and i am really getting nervous about the after effects. I know the surgery will be okay, i am at stage IV and have had this for almost 10 years with 3 surgeries under my belt. So what i am getting at, is who is on replacement hormones? How do they effect you? Also.. im not sure if i will go into early menopause.. Does anyone feel extra dry in your lady region? Any feeling at all? It will be a laparoscopic procedure. I didn't do hormone replacements I had mine at 24 years old too. I still have endo really bad they took everything out except my right ovary. The only thing I am happy about is not getting periods anymore. Other than that I regret it. Because now I am in pain almost everyday where before I mainly got it around my period and ovulation dates..

Your worrying about pain in your future or emotional distress.. hunny. . Look what you are going thru now and what you have went thru, isn't it time to offer yourself a new chance at a new life. All of those things are mechanisms in your brain that uou in the end control endo can't be controlled. So.. with that. How do you feel right now.. and how do they say you will feel after.. is it that that you are worried about, yourself, or how others might perceive you.. you can do anything you set your mind too.. so jst be yourself and push forward. . But remember to always better yourself in any way possible keep a posigive mind and remember you are in charge of your body.. you will only be a headcase I'd you allow yourself to be a headcase.. maybe see a psych before your surgery and release all your demons so you can come back into this world renewed and refreshed and your endo will be a bit of the past and a once bad situation shall be somewhat resolve I am here for you !!♡

I have repeatedly seen so many articles that show endometriosis can and or will grow back after hysterectomy.

Are they taking the ovaries? I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago and they left the ovaries and now it is back. I was pain and period free for 5 years and felt great! Not sure if they are going to take the ovaries now. I was 33 when I had it done. Good luck!

I had a partial hysterectomy it was the best long term decision I ever made. I didn't go into menopause and no more period. I am currently waiting to see Obgyn I suspect it's back again which I was never told was a possibility
