How To Date Men When You Have Endometriosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

How does a single woman with endometriosis begin to date men again
Should you tell a guy you are interested in right off the bat that you have endo
How can a quality social life, sex life, romantic life with this illness be achieved?
I feel so lame I am asking these questions, but I'm seriously at a loss about how to date men again & how to express my condition without them getting freaked out or thinking I'm a pansy/freak of nature. I have had sex only once in the past year and it was a… read more

If it were me I would not say anything right off the bat. See how your relationship goes & if you feel you want to go to the next level then tell him. Why put yourself through all that if it isn't a serious relationship. I know it's hard cause right now I'm married & it kills me to have sex. I'm grateful my husband is understanding & there are different ways. Endo is bad & it never seems to away.

I can imagine how terrifying it can be entering the dating world with such a serious condition that most people don't know anything about...
Fortunately I was dating my boyfriend for 1.5 years before a doctor finally acknowledged my endo. Before the diagnosis I was just confused why I kept having all these symptoms. Over time my endo bloating has gotten more apparent, as well as painful sex. I'm glad that I'm with someone I can trust and be vulnerable with.

My advice is get to know someone, after several dates if you think it might become more serious then I recommend informing them about your endo and how it can affect your life. Some people aren't up for the challenge, and those people aren't worthy of your time. Good luck!

Trust me you are not better off dead. I know when i started dating my husband i was actually on the pill continuously so no period not so much pain. When i did go off off it i just let him know what was more than likely gonna happen and actually it was worse. If someone cant accept u for who u are (and the endo does not define u it has a huge effect but doesnt define u) then they arent worth your time. Keep ur head up

First off, anyone who can walk away from you with no problem...doesn't deserve you! When you meet someone you are interested in, and realize it's someone you could see yourself with long term with, let them know about your illness asap. You don't want to waste your time or theirs. Please don't wait until feelings are involved unless you're ready to be on an emotional rollercoaster. Inbox me if you find my advice with listening to. I don't mind helping!
