Is Visanne Worth Trying? Despite The Cost
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I currently have a mirena however have been experiencing some bleeding and spotting. My doctor has given me a few options, one which is to try the visanne. I have heard so many mixed things about it mostly bad. One of the things is the cost and side effects. I guess I am really just wondering what people's thoughts and experiences are with it.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I think it would be worth a try. Different medication helps different people.

Personally Visanne has been amazing for me and I have been on it for 3 years. The first three months were awful though and I almost stopped using it. I had breast tenderness/pain, nausea and migraines. These side effects disappeared after three months and because of Visanne I have not needed surgery for three years which has been amazing for me as I have had over ten surgeries removing endometriomas and endometriosis. I have been able to regain my strength and excercise when I was bedridden for about thirteen years.

I am in Australia and my script for a month costs $100. If you do decide to try it, you should probably factor in at least giving it three or four months.

I hope it works for you.
