Has Anyone Had Botox Injections In Pelvic Floor Muscles?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor wants me to get Botox injections in my pelvic floor to help my muscles relax bc I keep having muscle spasms. Has anyone had good results with Botox? He said there is a chance the muscles will paralyze to where I won’t feel when I need to use the bathroom so I’ll havs accidents but it’s rare. That terrifies me!

It changed my life.. I could tell such a huge difference within a few months that my surgeon was shocked. She actually gasped while examining me because I actually had abnormal vagina :P I took it for about 3-4 months and don't have to continue taking it. I was able to have sex for the first time without pain which was amazing. I think I did gain weight on it, but I'm also on heaps of other stuff that makes me gain wait so it could have been any of those. I spoke to my surgeon about it and she said that the weight is mostly water though. I took 75mg a day btw and then tapered off at the beginning of this year and I'm still feeling great. Obviously everyone reacts differently to it, but for me it was amazing and I really hope it works for you <3

AshleyWangmann is the lyrica still helping you? My Dr prescribed it to me but I'm terrified to take it after hearing so many horror stories about weight gain and awful side effects. That being said I'm pretty desperate for some relief so it would be good to know it works for someone at least!

I was suggested botox as a last result as I had very overactive pelvic floor muscles but I went on Lyrica (a nerve pain medication) which my surgeon thought could help relax my pelvic floor muscles and it worked so brilliantly for me so maybe ask your doctor if there are anything with less side effects than muscle paralysation so you're not as worried.

I know a lady who had that done, for different condition, not endo... and she could not be happier!
