Pelvic Bone Pain Before/During Menses?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've wondered about this a lot and searched through pages and pages to find only things like "bone cancer"
I highly doubt it's cancer because only before and during my period, the bones in my pelvis, lower back and hips -some times all the way down to my knees - ache so bad and are sore to the touch. Is it just me or does anyone else get this? What helps you manage It? Please let me know. xox

The bones in your pelvis could be out of alignment. My osteopath pointed out a tender spot in my pubic bone it was cuz my left hip was out. She adjusted it and the tenderness went away immediately. When you are on your period the swelling and inflammation could push them out of alignment. Just my theory. Birth control contributing to osteoporosis I think would only be a risk if it stopped your period for those 10 years.

It could be scar tissue. As you bloat the scar tissue gets pulled and causes deep pain.

I agree - pelvic floor therapy should help you with some pain relief - get those inners in fighting shape!

But, if I remember correctly, you seem to always have the pain in your legs and hips right? I wonder if you just have Endo on your ligaments and nerves or somewhere that's affecting these and causing that pain. That could definitely cause pelvic bone pain. I personally have pelvic bone pain but its because of my bladder.

Other options for pain relief: Have you tried foot reflexology and / or cupping?

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member,
So I did pelvic floor therapy last year ( it was amazing).
And I learned all about the pelvic muscles and how they are connected.
You would not believe how the tiniest nerve responds to inflammation. There are muscles running through your pelvis that go all the way up to your neck and all the way down to you feet!

I agree with @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member..an alignment would help.
Also massage...

I think pelvic floor therapy would help alot too.

Are you on birth control or hormone suppression? They can increase risks of osteoporosis and arthritis when on them long term sometimes it doesn't even always stop after stopping them. In addition endo cause a lot of inflammation in the body in the nerves and joints depending on location so that could be contributing as well. Best of luck sister I hope you get relief soon.
