Endo Pain During Pregnancy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all! I'm new
Just looking for some support and understanding. My GP (who I 100% trust) believes I have endo and sent me to the obgyn to request a laparoscopy. Accidental lapse in birth control while waiting to see the obgyn led to a miraculous surprise pregnancy! Husband and I are so thrilled but now because I'm pregnant the OB doesn't want to listen to my concerns and believes I'm being overdramatic, because she says I can't have endo pain while pregnant (and because I'm still not… read more

My endo was worse my entire pregnancy and I had to wear a maternity support belt for relief. Wait until about a month after and have the laparoscopy and find a new GYN who specializes in #endo.

Thanks for the responses. This is actually baby #2 (first pregnancy was before things got so bad; only major issue was that my POTS was severe during that one). It just makes me anxious to have the OB pretending I'm not in as much pain as I told them I am. Like "okay, but I AM in severe pain, so if there's no good reason for it does that mean it's because I'm going to lose the baby??"

(My mom lost plenty of pregnancies to endo--she could get pregnant easily but miscarried a lot--and I'm in diagnosis limbo with antiphospholipid syndrome. It just...really helps to feel assured that this god-awful pain is an actual /thing/ for some people because if I can't attach a reason to why it might be so severe, I'm going to worry too much 😰 But thankfully I've not bled at all so I've not overly stressed myself haha)

Pregnancy is uncomfortable anyways, so it’s hard to tell if your pain is from the endo or from things stretching, pulling and tugging. Overall your pain should be improved since you are not ovulating and going through the normal hormonal cycles that cause the endo lesions to flare.
My advise is to enjoy every minute of this miracle pregnancy and try to overcome the pain with the joy of growing a beautiful and perfect baby inside you.
Discuss with your OB/GYN about having a laparoscopy after delivery and if you end up need a c-section they can look then too.
