Hey ladies! I will be having my left ovary removed soon. I keep becoming septic and in and out of the hospital. My Doctor would like me to start on Orilissa after my surgery. Can I hear your stories about this medication?
Had uterus, tubes, and cervix removed last Tuesday. Bowel movements are very uncomfortable and the gas hurts like hell when it comes out. I am still eating a soft diet and taking stool softeners
After my surgery, I was able to go to the bathroom after a week. It got comfortable as weeks went by and healing and getting stronger. I drank a lot of tea for the gas. I hope you get better soon.
Did anyone else have a pre surgery assessment on the NHS?
What was it like and how soon after did you get your surgery date?
It stands for national healthcare service and is the name for British government hospitals here in the UK
I’ve had laparoscopic surgery to burn off endo before but I’ve never had laparoscopic excision surgery where they cut it out at the root. This specialist is about 3 hours away from me and she said she would be checking from the diaphragm all the way down to the uterus and cervix. I’ve never had a surgeon be this thorough before. I’m nervous yet excited. Any tips on recovery?
Ohh good luck!! I’ve got my surgery tomorrow! Also nervous yet excited. If I have tips later I let you know😁
My endometriosis specialist and general surgeon are planning to remove two endometriosis masses from my abdominal cavity, but the general surgeon says he’ll be making an up and down incision. I have never had an incision like that, I’m very nervous about not knowing what to expect during recovery. Can anyone tell me about their experience recovering from an incision cut that way?
No I’m sorry to hear:( I’m sure it will go well :)
Hi
Hoping someone can offer some feedback insight into what symptoms are normal after laprascopic surgery. I was finally diagnosed with stage 4 endrimitriosis and soon after, booked for emergency laprascopic surgery due to debilitating symptoms (diareah, pain, nausea, depression, panic attacks, general upset tummy)
It's been 10 days post opp and recovery was hard but last 2 days it seemed to be worse. I was due to start my period 2 days ago but it did not come. Experiencing panic attacks… read more
You should call your dr. to confirm everything is okay but I've experienced similar symptoms post-op. Healing isn't linear and sometimes it feels like one step forward and two steps back. Hope you… read more
Hi all. As i shared in my story I have been clinically diagnosed with Endo from an endometriosis specialist, as my previous gynecologist was not communicative nor even bringing up its possibility despite my symptoms. He did a physical exam/asked a lot of questions, and wants an MRI done to stage endo and look for adenomyosis as well. But he said especially because of my complex ovarian cyst i need surgery (he is more concerned with it being dermoid/adeno/endometrioma than cancer). It could be… read more

Hi! Would appreciate any thoughts or insights anyone has. Thank you!
Is there anything that in hindsight you wish you knew prior to surgery? Whether about the surgery itself, aftercare, questions you wish you would’ve asked the surgeon, etc.
At what point did you feel like the surgical pain was gone/at a manageable level where it wasn’t all you were thinking about?
Hi Eve! I wish I would have known that I would wake up in a LOT of pain. I got through it but I woke up sobbing from the intensity of the pain (maybe I wasn't given enough meds?) However, due to the… read more
Hi all,
Don't know if I just need to vent but some advice would be appreciated too. I had my third Laparscopy towards the end of May this year. The removed endo from the Pouch of Douglas and Pelvic Wall. After previous surgeries I have generally felt a good bit of relief in the coming months. I also have PCOS. I'm not feeling as much relief as I thought I would by now. This month has been horrific. I had two full weeks where I felt "periody" and had PMS bloating, moods, cramps etc. I finally… read more
If I'm honest I felt no relief from having a laparoscopy, I felt like my nerve endings were just on fire and it just allowed it to run rampant. UCLH referred to my pouch of diagnosis as an obliterated… read more
Hi everyone, I’m struggling a lot right now. I have had all of the textbook symptoms of endometriosis for at least 6-7+ years now. Severe pelvic pain, mood swings, nausea, exhaustion, sometimes even vomiting and numbness in the legs. I have been on 8 birth controls in a year and a half. I had laproscopic surgery in April of this year to finally diagnose endometriosis..and he found nothing. I was devastated because I left the hospital with no answers and yet another birth control prescription… read more
In the exact same boat as you girl, I had my lap done today and I’m pretty upset. Feels like back to square one. They said they didn’t find anything. But I legit need birth control for pain, which… read more
