Heating Pad

Heating Pad

I've used an electric and microwave heating pad extensively to deal with endometriosis pain in my low back. Now the skin in that area is darker and blotchy. Is this something to be concerned about?

It has a particular name, I got it when my IUD was playing up and I was attached to my hot water bottle, your blood vessels like permanently dialate from the heat. A lot of endo sisters have it and once you stop using the heat for an extended period of time (which I know is a long shot for those in pain) it completely goes away. Mine only comes back for a day or so if I use my hot water bottle. It's nothing to be worried about but just mention it to your doctor next time you see them.

It's a skin condition, like a rash from the heating pad because of how long you exposed your skin to the heat.. the discoloration is hyperpigmentation.. I'm sorry.. I dont know if its something to be concerned about but if you have an itching or burning sensation I'd ask the doc what you could do..
