BROWN BLEEDING
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Been on birth control for 6 years. Never had a problem till I switched to SPRINTEC now I’m constantly bleeding brown blood all month with only a few days of a break and I get cramps too. My OBGYN changed my pills but I’m still having the same problem . I was diagnosed with Mild endometriosis and he says I don’t have Adenomyosis cause Of my age. Hematologist said I have no bleeding disorder, and my doctor claims I have no fibroids/cysts/polyps. Anyone know what could be causing this annoying… read more

UPDATE: bought some microfiber/bamboo/charcoal panty liners off amazon and a pair of Thinx underwear - all significantly better than disposables! Much more comfortable when there is wetness and less irritating!

I have had the brown bleeding for 12 years for 2.5 weeks of the month, then period, followed by a few good days. I can only assume it's the endometriosis. When my surgeon showed me photos and videos from my surgery, the endo tissue was the same dark brown, and looked similar to what comes out, though i'm not 100% sure it's the same. For me, switching pills, going off the pill for a few years, and starting back on the pill (also sprintec) made no difference. It's actually coming down more now that i've had two surgeries! I'm feeling pretty itchy down there from it and am considering popping my diva cup in to keep things dryer down there. I've also been looking into bamboo/microfiber panty liners as well, hoping for some relief from the skin irritation, at least! It has definitely made for some embarrassing sexy time for me over the years, but thankfully my husband is really supportive and kind, and knows how to calm me down when I get embarrassed about it. Always have to throw a towel down :/ I will let you know how the cloth pads turn out! Hope we can find some answers !!

I use the diva cup for my period and love it! I will have to check out the ruby cup and modibodi!

I am wearing thinx undies right now and they’re pretty awesome - feeling much less irritated!!
