A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello Ladies
I am currently a stage 4 endo sufferer who has had more than her share of surgeries (including partial hysterectomy, appendectomy, ovary removal, etc. all for endo). My current situation is I am not on meds since we have not been able to find one best for my situation. My left ovary has a 3.5 cm endometrioma we are monitoring. Luckily it is growing slowly. The thought is if we can hold on to the ovary then I can limp my way through to menopause in another 5-8 years without using… read more

JMO, but I would see the specialist as scheduled. I would def want the bowel checked, as our colon seems to be ground zero target for endo. It can infiltrate and cause an obstruction, requiring bowel resection. If it were me, I would not risk the "wait and see".

This is where my thought process is...I am 47 and wondering what can I do to bridge the gap to menopause....I started visanne in September....and I haven't had a period since..which I don't like either...very convenient but don't know if my body should be reacting that way...experiencing a lot of side effects - weight gain - and I am a healthy eater and exercise regularly, hair falling out, headaches and nausea, my appetite is all off...all I want is toast tea an soup...so I have decided to stop the medication and see what happens....I have stated taking a lot of supplements to help with the issues....

Thank you both! I decided to keep the appointment for the surgeon and have agreed to the GI consult my gyn ordered. I just hate the idea of going through tests if I don't have to. I'm a teacher so I have to schedule a sub for any time off (which feels like more work than just teaching) not to mention the cost$$$$.

Thanks again!
