Chronic Bladder Infections?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello everyone. I had surgery almost a month ago for endometriosis excision. Recently after i had a bladder infection, took antibiotics for 7 days (Macrobid). My symptoms from the bladder infection went away but i got like a little flare up tonight and i noticed I always feel like i have to pee when this happens? Its weird. I bought at-home UTI tests and it came back positive.. like i just finished my antibiotics a bit over a week ago, i think more or less. Is it possible its back again? Im not… read more

Flareups are a killer. I am currently having one.

The at-home urine tests can give many false-positives and false-negatives.

I had horrible urinary symptoms ie. chronic bladder infections or so I thought. I decided to take 800 mg of ibuprofen, and my bladder and I felt much better. But during this whole rigamarole I was misdiagnosed as having interstitial cystitis by a urogynecologist. When the jerk attempted performing a cystoscopy with no anesthetic, I went a urologist who performed a cystoscopy with anesthesia. There was no evidence of IC. And to think the urogynie wanted to prescribe meds for a condition I didn't have. My gut said to not take that prescription, and I was correct.

Please let me/us know how you're feeling in a couple of days.😘

Do you have any flank pain? Or feel like you haven't emptied everything out? I'd get a blood test from your family doctor see if you have any elevated blood levels or irregular blood levels so that you can figure out what is going on possibly having kidney infection or a possible of some complication of the bladder infection. Ask the important questions to your gyn or family doctor!

Megan Rosato is correct. Get to a doctor. It is possible your bladder/urethra are still irritated by the catheter.

Do you have fever? If you spike one and have back pain, get to the ER IMMEDIATELY. I had a kidney infection that almost killed me.

Thank you both. Now im just convinced its inaccurate because ive been constantly spotting. I dont have any symptoms of a bladder infection (no bladder pain, no burning, just having trouble emptying my bladder which is normal for me when i get flare ups). Ill keep an eye out for any symptoms and if either the flare up gets worse or intense symptoms come out of nowhere ill present myself at the ER.
