Has Anyone Had A Laproscpoy Without Anything Found?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor has decided that to hopefully control my pain for awhile I’m getting another laparoscopy. I’m nervous because since it’s so close to my last one they won’t find anything, even though my pain has been worse than ever and I’ve been bleeding for a month and a half and now I’m having problems with my bowels. Has anyone had a laparoscopy without finding anything or anything similar happen?

I understand this. For my 1st laparoscopy, it felt like the surgeons didn't find nearly enough scar tissue for all my pain. My original OB/GYN just kinda shrugged it off like: "Well, even 1 spot of scar tissue or an adhesion can cause terrible pain. You just never know."

Then I found out there are LOTS of places the stupid endometrial tissue can attach and flourish. My favorite part: the surgeons can't see all these spots and look everywhere during your procedure!!! What gives? I could swear I have it in my colon, but who knows? I've also started having these bowel issues (so embarrassing, right?). I know it sounds lame sometimes and kinda Pollyanna-ish, but I do try to stay positive and make jokes about it. Believe me, it's NOT FUNNY, but what else am I gonna do? I'm tired of crying.

Just hang in there and be really pro-active. I've switched doctors because I was NOT happy with my former OB/GYN, as his solution was either laparoscopy or hysterectomy. Remember that you're the one who knows the most about what's going on in your body ;)

No, but i have that same fear. I think its just fear that you will have to keep on living the way you are. Sometimes i fear there is no endo at all (ive already had a big surgery to remove a ton, so that shows you how silly that is...) but i think its just the fear and anxiety of it all.
