I have an endometrioma on my right ovary, I have had it for about a year now and I am waiting to be able to afford surgery hopefully within the next 6 months. Anyway I have started feeling sharp pains more frequently on my left side. I’m really worried because I want to protect my good ovary. I can’t afford to see my usual doctor but I was wondering if anyone knows if once you have an endometrioma on one ovary if I have a high chance of getting one on my other ovary?
I had my left ovary removed due to an endometrioma and my right ovary looked good the doctor at the time said. I do know that during the observation period of a year, the right ovary did have a cyst or two come and go, but they were likely functional cysts because of that. I think if you get on under control, your chances of preserving your other ovary increase.
From what I researched, having one doesn't put you at risk for another on the opposite side. However, I suggest speaking to your doctor.
How large is the endometrioma, and do you know what type of stage?
I know Dr. Mitroi is in Romania, and there is another Nook surgeon in Portugal. There are also several in England.
If there is one in Austria, that's amazing!!
Thanks so much! I know Nancy's nook. I've even signed up to their website. They also have a site. But the problem is that I live in the Netherlands, I'm Dutch. And I think the closest surgeon on Nancy's nook is in Austria I believe. ❤️
The sharp pains are so relatable. I feel the same pains. I also feel like the cysts are pressing down on my gut. I literally feel like they're heavy. Like I've been swallowing a bowlingball.
I'm going to suggest joining Nancy's Nook Endometriosis Education on FB (if you have FB) or NancysNookEndo.com. There is very clear and prudent information about everything related to endo.
I also found my excision surgeon on Nancy's Nook. He was the absolute BEST!!
