I'm not feeling well on the Mirena, I bleed less and my pain is less severe, but I feel sad and fatigued, and my skin has never looked worse
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member no, it`s not that bad. Everyone will react individually, but my gyn and GP assures me it`s one of the safest and least invasive hormonal birth controls. But, as I understand it, you`ll have to be a bit patient with it, as it may take your body some time getting used to.
I have only had it for 3 months, so not entirely adapted yet. For me, at this point, it is still worth it, as my chronic pain is less severe and less frequent. I don`t need strong pain killers on a daily basis anymore, and this period I hardly bled anything, it was just spotting really.
I hope you find something that works for you, and if you decide to give the mirena a chance then just remember to give it time to settle
I had the Mirena coil too, it was put in during my lap surgery last May, even though i told the surgeon i didn’t want it 🤨 i suffered terrible migraines, fatigue, muscle soreness/weakness and actually made the Endo pain worse. I demanded they take it out at my doctors after 4 months and the symptoms eased immeadiatly xx
I think some of my symptoms originate from the Mirena. Has had it for 2 years, put I bleed more often and my cramps are still bad, somewhat better tho. Also fatigued and has had a lot of headaches since I got it, plus GI symptoms got worse after I got it. Also it wrecked my skin. So I don’t know for a fact if it is the Mirena or if it is endo progressing, but something happend and some thing has gotten worse after I got it. Different for everyone tho.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I have talked to my regular doctor about removing it since 6 months after I got it, but then he wanted me to try the next 6 months as well to just see if it adapts. Then I got so sick I couldn’t do anything anymore and I didn’t have the energy to even think about it. But the last 6 months I have wanted to get it out in case it might be increasing my symptoms. But my gyno don’t want to take it out due to birth control has helped with my severe period pain in the past. So she wanted to wait until I had my laparoscopy done. And I have always reacted badly to birth control, so this has been the least painful bc for me up until a while ago. I hope du get it out after my lap next Thursday tho🙌🏻
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member yes i was a tad peed off 🤨 they only put it in to try to help with pain symptoms.. i don’t need birth control as i was steralised after my 3rd child. I am now on morphine patches as nothing else touches the pain... iv’e gone through everything lol. Hope your’e ok sweetie🤗😘xxx
