How Do They Know What Stage Your In?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was recently diagnosed via vaginal ultra sound, my dr told me that they typically have to do a diagnostic surgery but that the ultrasound showed enough findings that he could say without a dought that I have it. he spotted it on my right ovary and he said he saw some begining to implant. i believe he said it was in another area but at that point the ultrasound was getting really uncomfortable and so I wasn't really paying any attention. He didn't tell me what stage it is in but recommended… read more

Does he or she do excision? If not find someone in your area. I went to Atlanta from Tucson to Dr Sinervo.

I don't believe they can go solely based off the ultrasound, no one wants surgery but I believe that's the only way to truly know the severity and stage.

I guess maybe I'm lucky, my pain is mostly on my period. I very rarely have pain when I'm not on it, sometimes I get cramps but they aren't really painful. Although I starting to wonder if my nausea is caused by the endo. I'm nauseous the majority of the time and it gets worse on my period

I had so many ultrasounds, and nothing was picked up. It was only when i had a laproscopy, they found endometriosis. Such a shame you cannot have treatment at the moment if you have endo. You must be in discomfort daily :(

I'm not sure if he does, but my insurance only covers dr's within my area as it is a local insurance for low income residents. I do not think that he plans to have me go through with a surgery at the moment, I believe that his hope is to do a biopsy of the growths that I have to verify that it is endometriosis. he ask me to participate in a clinical trial as well. As of so far there has been no talk of surgery and honestly I'm kinda relieved, i don't want to undergo surgery at all. i don't scares from it and i really don't want to worry about it on top everything else. I'm a full time worker and student, the recovery period for surgery would wreck havoc on my life. my classes are all at an exelerated rate, if I miss a week of school then theres no way i will be able to finish my courses.
