Hi Everyone...I Was Diagnosed With PCOS 3 Yrs Ago And Severe Endo Last Year. My Question Is About Weight Loss After A Full Hysterectomy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Because of my PCOS and endometriosis, I suffer from chronic pain and anemia which has led to significant weight gain (more than 60 lbs, 20 of it in the last 3 months). Now I’m going for a full hysterectomy in April and beginning hrt shortly afterward. I would appreciate any advice and/personal experiences. Thank you!

Getting Enough Sleep
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I used to sleep great, but when I start getting endo pain I have a hard time staying asleep. If the tiniest thing wakes me up, that's it, I'm awake. If I take something before bed it wears off before it can help. And I don't always have an opportunity for a nap later in my day. Has anyone found a way to get restful, restorative sleep? Only getting 6 hours of sleep a night almost every night is really wearing me down.

When I get a flareup, I get about four hours asleep, so I usually take an edible and I sleep all night

I’m off all hormonal birth control and I’ve gained 30lb the last two years. I want to say the main contributors are being less active & also a hormone imbalance? Ugh

Exercise Help Symptoms
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was curious if anyone else has ever noticed exercise helps symptoms? I was doing CrossFit regularly and I noticed my cramping, spot bleeding, pms symptoms subside. I noticed when I am heavily stressed they come full force. But doing intense exercise did the reverse.

I read in an article that doing core work is a no no due to pulling in the stomach and risking spreading the adhesions to the other side of the stomach ? It sounds logical doesnt it?

Did You Know The Surgeon You Choose To Remove Your Endo Matters?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Endo needs to be removed deep and wide by the excision technique. Not every OBGYN knows how. When it's done correctly the Endo has a very small chance of returning. Call one of these Surgeons and take care of yourself. If it's not possible to see one of these surgeons, still call and they can recommend a quality surgeon near you , who can give you good care.

Third Laparoscopy For Endo Pouch Of Douglas & Pelvic Wall. Not Much Relief
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all,

Don't know if I just need to vent but some advice would be appreciated too. I had my third Laparscopy towards the end of May this year. The removed endo from the Pouch of Douglas and Pelvic Wall. After previous surgeries I have generally felt a good bit of relief in the coming months. I also have PCOS. I'm not feeling as much relief as I thought I would by now. This month has been horrific. I had two full weeks where I felt "periody" and had PMS bloating, moods, cramps etc. I finally… read more

If I'm honest I felt no relief from having a laparoscopy, I felt like my nerve endings were just on fire and it just allowed it to run rampant. UCLH referred to my pouch of diagnosis as an obliterated… read more

What’s The Most Absurd Thing Your Doctor Has Told You?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had one gynecologist tell me to my face that endo can’t grow and proceeded to look at me funny. Another told me that she could only prescribe Tylenol for my IUD placement. These make me laugh, lol

Malpractice
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was terminated from my healthcare provider's facility due to an emotional response I had to being told my agony, and miscarriages occurred in a "normal" reproductive system. This woman wasn't even near when the doctor and i spoke about the adhesions involving my bladder, and the lesions on my spine and the 1 cm endometrioma. I was treated like an animal. They called me to address the complaint I made about being told things were normal. which wasn't even addressed, we spoke briefly. Then the… read more

Sometimes I have super bad cramps -not usually enough to make me vomit, but every period I get what I call 'jello legs'. No one seems to know what I'm talking about.

Red Blotches On My Stomach
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was just told by my doctor two weeks ago that I probably have endo. I don't want to do the surgery to determine it right now, so will be starting the pill next month.

But for the last 4 weeks I have had these red blotches on my stomach. They do not get worse or better.... they do not itch and are not raised. I take Zyrtec everyday for my many allergies, so I do not think this is an allergic reaction to anything.... is this a symptom of endo? Has anyone else experienced this? I didn't… read more

Thanks! I haven't seen it listed as a symptom either but thought I would check. I have an appt with my GP on may 10th, but the wait is tough so thought I would reach out here for any insight.
