I always see that common symptoms are painful, heavy, and/or long periods, but I have very light and short periods, and my periods aren’t crampy (other than terrible lower back pain), but I often have pain and constipation a few days after ovulation. I have a laparoscopy scheduled for Thursday, so I just wondered if anyone else experienced similar symptoms.
I had ZERO symptoms aside from infertility and turns out I had stage 4 endo. My doctors and surgeons were absolutely stumped. If it weren’t for the fact that we were trying to conceive, I never would have known.
It’s been about a year post-op and I still don’t have the other symptoms. 🤷🏽♀️
I also had/have extremely light periods with no pain. This disease is effing ridiculous. 🤬
I’m sure if men suffered from it we would have more answers.
The symptoms can vary a lot for each person, so it's totally plausible that you could have endo even without the period issues. My doc was telling me that some people have no symptoms and only find out about the endo when they have trouble getting pregnant and have a diagnostic lap. I wonder if the heavy, painful periods are more indicative of adeno than endo, as many of us have both 🤔 Best of luck with your surgery and recovery 💛💛
It isn't necessarily to have heavy periods. Have you seen Dr Mona Orady Video on Myths and facts about endometriosis ? You shall find all answers there
I was the same! The endo was on my pararectal region - so not literally on the bowel but close enough to cause issues
