Has Anyone Been On Cymbalta?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

One dr. wants me to try Cymbalta & I was wondering if anyone has taken it & what kind of side effects did you have? I'm afraid of new pills. I need one that doesn't make you gain weight or give you constipation. It is probably impossible to find one.

I have been on Cymbalta for several yrs now post hysterectomy. It helps me deal with the hormonal changes and pain management. I was on t for approx 7mo before I was diagnosed with having endometriosis. It has been a huge help to me. I haven’t experienced any notable side effects.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but I will share in case it is useful. I have been on Cymbalta to treat anxiety, OCD, depression, and chronic pain for almost a year with no noticeable negative side effects. I started taking it because my previous SSRI was no longer working well. The transition from one medication to the other was a bit weird and made me a bit mentally foggy, but that's to be expected and it only lasted a few weeks

My mental health is better, which gives me a fuller life. It allows me to have a job and have better relationships with the people I care about. I don't think it helps with the pain, but it does help me deal with the pain.

I hope you find the help you are looking for! In the mean time, you will be in my thoughts.

I'm on a lower dose and haven't noticed a weight change.

I was on it for years to treat pain and anxiety. I had weight gain and strange dreams for the side effects I remember. One word of advice or more or less something to be aware of, I found it extremly hard to stop taking. There were withdrawl sympoms that made me feel very sick.

I've been on it since May for pain management (prescribed for my fibromyalgia) and depression. It's an SNRI medication. Only (temporary) side effect I noticed was dry mouth. It helped give me my life back essentially.
