Period Length?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

This is a random question, but ever since my laparoscopic surgery last April my periods have been slowly decreasing. The pain from them never subsided but after surgery they were only like 5 days long typically before were 7-9days. Then they were 4 days and now this month only 3. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this I don't know if I should contact my doctor?

Definitely talk to the dr. Sometimes that surgery creates more endometrial tissue than it removes causing "clogged pipes". Other situations the surgery was semi successful and though it didnt end the bad cramping it did shorten the length of menses

I'm going to see what happens this month I ended up not getting the IUD. Which is what added to the concern of the sudden changes

Mention it to your doctor to be on the safe side. It might be normal but you can never be too sure. I've never had a laparoscopic surgery but I've heard it's normal for IUD's to cause heavy blood flow at first, then decrease to possibly no periods. The medication I take for my endo skips my periods and my gyno is aware of this, so I'm comfortable with this treatment. Wish the best for you.

My periods have done the same thing! Normally they used to last 7-10 days and i was on the copper iud so my flow was incredibly heavy. Now they are manageable flow and 4-5 days. I'd certainly mention it to your doctor since you are concerned (please let me know if they say anything negative) but thus far I've just been counting my blessings.

Maybe just give your doctor a call and hear what he/she has to say. Rather safe than sorry. xx
