Because of my PCOS and endometriosis, I suffer from chronic pain and anemia which has led to significant weight gain (more than 60 lbs, 20 of it in the last 3 months). Now I’m going for a full hysterectomy in April and beginning hrt shortly afterward. I would appreciate any advice and/personal experiences. Thank you!

Hi! Would appreciate any thoughts or insights anyone has. Thank you!
Is there anything that in hindsight you wish you knew prior to surgery? Whether about the surgery itself, aftercare, questions you wish you would’ve asked the surgeon, etc.
At what point did you feel like the surgical pain was gone/at a manageable level where it wasn’t all you were thinking about?
Hi Eve! I wish I would have known that I would wake up in a LOT of pain. I got through it but I woke up sobbing from the intensity of the pain (maybe I wasn't given enough meds?) However, due to the… read more
I have stage 3 Endo and I'm 29 years old and seriously considering freezing my eggs! Have any of you done this? I heard insurance covers the cost if you have stage 3 or 4 Endo
I think it's worth talking to a fertility specialist about. However, freezing your eggs is still a very new process (the current method started in 2012). Most people that have been pregnant from these… read more
I have 4 failed iui trials. i was diagnosed with endometriosis and had lap surgery may 2017 to remove both ovarian cystys one was size of 7 and the other one was at 5, they did drain the cysts to make it smaller to size of 0.5-1, and since then trying to conceive, september i started fertility treatment with iui and my forth cycle is BFN. we went staright to the injection options, i was on menopur 2 vials a day and producing 2-3 follicles, and my doctor added last month another gono inhection so… read more
it is very expensive ivf that is the only problem , money it costs 20,000 dollars in california
Has anyone frozen their eggs? As I have been doing research I keep seeing that it is important to freeze your eggs while in your 20s if you have Endo, since your fertility decrease faster. I want to be able to carry a baby and I think what scares me the most about this disease is the fertility issues
I would freeze them. I didn't know I could. I didn't know I had endo until my appendectomy in 2005.
I have GERD and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat or if I eat. I read that a hiatal hernia can sometimes be the cause but have no idea how you would determine if you have a hernia. Seems a lot of doctors struggle to see them on imaging.
I take 40 mg of famotidine each day
I had my surgery in March, my right ovary removed my fallopian tubes removed and endometrioma in my left ovary was attempted to be removed but it burst and she had to leave it in there. She wanted to save my 1 ovary for hormones. My bladder, Bowels, ovary & uterus were fused together. However, since the surgery my flareups have been worse and more frequent! And my left ovary endometrioma has doubled since March. Why???????? I thought this would have helped not made it worse! Thank you
I feel like no matter what we do we can't get relief. I'm so sorry 😔
I'm considering having my eggs frozen but I'd like some advice on how people's procedures went & the whole treatment process please? Thanks in advance x
I did IVF two years ago. I definitely recommend anyone that is not ready to be a mom right now but wants to have babies freeze their eggs. It's a long process and for me it hurt so very bad. But was… read more
ok so this might go into TMI but I just wanted to ask if anyone here has ever done a specific ultrasound for Endo which is a transvaginal one? I have an appointment to do one on Tuesday and its my first one ever.
I have to have a laxative and an enema before the appointment and I've never done anything like that before, I'm quite nervous about the whole entire thing. So if anyone here has ever done ANY of this before, I would like to know if its uncomfortable or any thing like that. Thanks.
I had a transvaginal ultrasound before my laparoscopic surgery. It didn't really hurt at all, since the wand is well lubricated. I didn't have to have a laxative or enema, so that's odd that they're… read more
I woke up in the most excruciating pain in the middle of the night. Cramping like I’ve never felt before. My whole body also feels soo achy. I do have fibromyalgia but I’m wondering if anyone has experienced a random endo flare up that is just awful? I haven’t had one in probably years, since my lapro in 2019. Worried it came back and came back bad;(
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member. I also have fibromyalgia which sometimes it’s hard to tell if the pain is fibromyalgia or endometriosis. I do get bad flares with my whole body in pain. I even wake up… read more
