I had laparoscopic surgery about a week and a half ago, and I still cannot pee without being in terrible pain. It doesn’t feel like a UTI to me; it’s a pain that starts around my bellybutton and then kind of fans outward from there and lasts a few minutes. But it’s bad enough that I can’t stand or breathe very well. I did call my surgeon, but he wasn’t available and the nurse I talked to told me not to worry about it. But I’m worrying anyway. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this?
Go back to the hospital if you are retaining water .they can ultrasound you
To test the function
I had pain, but only for 2-3 days after at the most. I would call again if you don't feel like it is improving.
I find leaning forward helps A LOT. That's what I'd do when I was having pain before surgery and it's been helping me since surgery as well. Finding the right angle was a bit tricky, but worth the effort.
It hurt for me to pee afterwards!
I always get UTIs after I have a catheter. I got one last year after my lap and it did not feel like a regular UTI but my numbers were off the charts.
