Laparoscopy Diagnosis
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi,

I recently had my laparoscopy, after speaking to the doctor he said I had it on my left ovary, pelvic wall he also mentioned it was on my bladder and abdominal wall. Now I’ve read up about the abdominal wall which apparently is rear and you get it if you have a c section which I haven’t had I don’t have any children. Just wondering if anyone else has also been told this? He also mentioned going back in 4 months not too sure if that would be for more surgery I was still a bit out of it when… read more

Yeah, I've given up on logic when it comes to location of endometriosis implants, at least in my case. If you want, I share some deets. Otherwise, just good vibes for you.

I had 17 areas of endo implants or adhesions taken out by excision surgeon Dr. Seckin. I had adhesions that had strangled my appendix; it was dead and he took it out. I had multiple sites on my side and front walls of pelvis, some stuff gluing my ovaries to my bowel and some in my cul-de-sac, which had glued my uterus to my rectum Well, no wonder sex was a nightmare and my husband and I had been in a state of (unwanted) celibacy for a year. Basically, it was a 3 hour surgery and he did a whole clean out. I felt better waking up from that surgery than I did going into it!

Then, about 3 years later, another excision surgeon, Dr. Mosbrucker, took out adhesions that had glued my left ovary to the "pelvic sidewall", according to the operation report. She also did my hysterectomy because adenomyosis had been confirmed, I'm childfree by choice and I just wanted any pain source outta there. You are welcome to read more in my recommendations tab if that would help you.

Regardless, been there & done that is the point. Didn't like the t-shirt.
Sending you good thoughts.

Also in the cul de sac (not sure where that actually is in the pelvis)

Mine went from my ovaries to pelvic wall then to bladder, and almost to colon/bowel. I don't have any children either.

That’s such a tough decision to make ... could you of had children after the doctor cleaned it out if you tried?

Yeah, my OB mentioned to me that the bladder is also rare. I also just realized you said abdominal wall and not pelvis wall. Lol. I do believe endo is different for everyone though.
