Birth Control- LoLoestrin Fe
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was switched to this birth control earlier this year because my body doesn't seem able to handle any hormone pills stronger than this one. However, I have now been bleeding daily for over two months. My gyn says I need to keep taking these pills, but I am not sure that I can keep doing this. It is annoying, for one, but also concerning to me. Any similar experiences or advice?

I just had this similar problem. I actually stopped taking the pills. They didn’t help with the pain anyway.

I'm sorry and that sucks. Do you know the name of them? There's some that keep the same level of hormone all month (monophasic) and some that change each week to more closely "mimic" the natural menstrual cycle (triphasic). For me, the triphasic ones were terrible; I was a super moody witch with a capital B and had a ton of spotting.

I was on Nuvaring for four months and they were the best four months of my life. Really light periods and it helped with the pain. But I had a blood clot to my lungs, so no more estrogen for me. They said it's pretty rare, so who knows why. All my tests for clotting problems were negative, though.

I was on Micronor for about 5 months; that's a progesterone only pill. That didn't help with the pain and just made me feel more nausea, so I stopped it. I didn't need contraception since my husband had had a vasectomy by then. And I was so miserable I wasn't having sex anyway. That was before my second surgery with hysterectomy for adenomyosis.

That's what I have been considering as well. Okay. Thank you so much :)
