What Are The Best Treatment Options?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have had horribly painful periods since I was 14. My periods would last 30+ days, so I was put on the pill before I could drive. My periods have since regulated but they’re excruciately painful and have been for as long as I can remember. I’ve had to leave work or school if I didn’t have ibuprofen on hand. Sometimes I take 1600mg every four hours and I can still feel the pain (I never use ibuprofen when I’m not on my period except for when I have migraines)
I’m a runner and ski mountaineer… read more

Orilissa medication will help tremendously. Get it from your obgyn . I too have endometriosis for over 15 years and now I am so much better taking Orilissa medication

Earlier this year i experienced so many "unusual" medical problems, had an appendectomy, still experienced pain and discomfort in my abdomen. Later had a colonoscopy then endoscopy and nothing was found. I knew i would have endo, since its hereditary and 3 generations in my family had it, i didnt have my laparoscopy till this month where they found endo by my bowel and around my uterus as well as adhesions. When i went to my GI (cuz of my abdominal pain) she said the same as my gyno which was the pain being from endo. I currently am on depo just because for me it helps with avoiding the bad period pains. Orilissa was suggested to me but it does nothing for the endo (research even saying its for pain) just helps with pain like any pain killer would so i havent taken that

Depo is a perscribed birthcontrol shot that is given every 3 months, you dont get a period while on it.

Orlissa was recommended to me but I really wanted to avoid Hormonal treatment if possible and it’s an estrogen suppressor from what I understand. It also seems to have potential side affects of severe anxiety and dePression which I already struggle with and make me not want to try it also.

What is depo? Is that a prescription or over the counter pain killer?

Yes I called the Orillissa company from the website they gave me a coupon that took almost all the expensive fee off . I only now pay $5.00 compared to 1,800 that’s with insurance .
