I guess the reason would be to avoid having their period altogether
I'm skipping the placebo pills to manage my endometrioma pain. I read that taking the pill (active only) provides a steady amount of estrogen vs an uneven amount that your ovaries produce. Also, if you take the placebos, I think your body kicks in and starts producing estrogen until you start a new pack. Which could lead to hormone fluctuations that may cause hormone related things like headaches or mood swings.
Yes that's what I do since last April because my periods are unbearable, they stop me from functioning. Not having my period helps me a lot, but taking birth control every day doesn't help with the chronic endo pain I also get. Basically it can help with some symptoms but not all.
I tried this method but it did not work for me.
It doesn't treat, just helps manage symptoms. Have done it for years.
Yes! It is supposed to lessen endometrium growth.
