I have a history of stage 3 endo removed in 2013, have had two children since then and have been symptom free until 6 months ago. Last month I went to ER and ended up having appendicitis. Pathology showed endo in my appendix and I will be having a laparoscopy in April to see where else it is. Anyone else have this and how was it found? I had my first excision surgery in 2016. I had endo all over and basically my entire peritoneum was excised. I had adhesions kinking my bowel abnormally. My ovaries were glued to the sidewalls. And my appendix was so strangled by endo and adhesions that it was necrotic (basically rotting).
Also, many gynos are not aware of all the forms and colors endo can have. So I'm not surprised that a general surgeon didn't see it, especially if he wasn't looking for it
My appendix was swollen during my surgery. So it was jusy removed with no taken chances of it bursting. My endo was i think mainly on my colon
They found mine feom having pain so they did lapo. Tgats when they found it
The crazy thing is that the general surgeon said he didn’t see any endo anywhere but that he also wasn’t looking for it as he was just in there to remove my appendix.
