Endometriosis In "Pouch Of Douglas"
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all,

I had my third laparoscopy with endometriosis resection two days ago. The endometriosis had come back under my right ovary and in the Pouch of Douglas. That is new for me and i'm not really sure what it entails. I'm just wondering if anyone else had an experience with endo her and what effects it had on them? I've my post-op with my doc/surgeon next week and wondering if there's any specific questions I should ask? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I had endo there. It's a common place for it. It's between your vagina and rectum. It often causes a lot of scarring, which glues those two areas together. They are supposed to move freely against one another! So I hope they excised all the endo and any adhesions. Once it was gone and I had a lot of pelvic floor physical therapy, it made bowel movements and sex much less painful.
