I’m glad to help with whatever I can @ LULU20. Decreasing daily stress helped a lot with mood swings. The mood swings on Luprion vs post hysterectomy. People close to me described me as “ crazy” vs post hysterectomy was more “calmer” type of mood swings. Also, after dealing with this for so long, I do try to “ not to react” if that makes anysense. I try to remember that most people unforturtunetly lack empathy even if they show some sympathy or no sympathy at all.
Post hysterectomy, I am also dealing with skin/hair changes since they also had to remove both of my overies which makes me look older but the pain is a lot better. I am not throwing up few times a week. Pain is still there but it seems more predictable and manageable. I had endo on my bowels & bladder so those stmptons are still there - I suspect just the damage from endo & scarring. Theres is IC & pelvic dysfunction issues. Depending on your age, I was told its better to leave your ovaries in but defenietly talk to an “ excision” surgeon before you consider hystrerectomy.
I hope this will help answer some of your questions.

Forgot to mention, mood swings were hard. I kept trying to stay logical but that was very difficult. I hope you do not experience those. On upside, it did help my pain. I had hysterectomy 2 years which did help with some pain & no more throwing up , less migraines /mood swings but also brings on different type of symptoms/pains. Just something to think over while you go through your treatment. I wish someone had shared that persoective with me before my hysterectomy.

Cold ice water by the bed was super helpful when those hot flashes come in and wake you up.

I had Orilissa for 9 months. It is chemically extremely similar, just in pill form. Remember that the hot flashes aren't actually your body feeling more hot--it's a response to your chemicals. That helped me stay very calm when they happened.

The sweats were the worst for me--plan to have some very flowy (non-restrictive) night clothes made from natural fibers, and natural fibers in your bedding. (Polyester tends to trap a lot of heat.) In fact, natural fibers in general are nice for this, because when the sweats come, you will WANT fibers that breathe. Cotton, Rayon, Linen, Hemp, Bamboo, etc.

You might also invest in some foot powder, for the same reasons. I sweated a lot more than usual during my time on Orilissa, and that includes my feet.

I also found that it could be nice to keep a mister nearby. I'd spritz a couple times into the air and walk into it. Splashing my face and the back of my neck often throughout the day was helpful, so you might want to limit makeup use (I don't tend to wear any).

I feel your trepidation. Remember, a hysterectomy isn't treatment for endo--you'll want to make sure you're talking about excision of the endometriosis lesions (not cauterization, because that isn't as effective). My hysterectomy was at the beginning of this month, and it has been AMAZING, but I also had adenomyosis.
