Has Anyone Tried Turmeric And Ginger Shots?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone tried turmeric and ginger shots? Have they helped? I saw a couple of videos explaining that it was supposed to help with inflammation and joint pain.

Hello! As I've mentioned in my bio & couple responses, I have a 35yr history, very complex non-texbook history(i.e. see bio, unfortunately quite long) and been taking an Aromatase Inhibitor(Arimidex: Hormonal Chemo) since 2009 following my Left Nephrectomy as a result of Ureteral Endo. Initially, 1mg w/o any side effects, then increased to 2.5mg w/intermittent joint pain & many side effects. Of course, despite all that's been done & removed, still deal with pain; plus, with single kidney, not supposed to take nsaids. I've had to be creative with nausea & pain treatments, plus, with the meds I do take, if I can do anything more natural, I consider it a 'win'!
I've been taking ginger shots for years, just increasing the intensity: shredded ginger root, mixed with ginger ale & ginger beer. Due to the nausea(Bowel Endo), I chose as many liquid meds as possible so I do not have to 'break down' pills making digestive system work harder(i.e. H/O Small Bowel Resection). Therefore, I use liquid Turmeric: 30-60ml/day...I buy from Costco when on sale, $7 off. I absolutely see a difference with Turmeric, not only in my joint/back pain but also helping to keep 'down'-feelings at bay. Turmeric has SO many benefits:)

My boyfriend uses tons of ginger and turmeric in all of our foods, I am going to say it is probably similar to that since we make mostly soups. I notice less joint pain with turmeric. If you try it, let me know!

i try to drink ginger tea every morning and night. it has antiinflammatory properties and tastes soo good and fresh. turmeric does as well but usually i just include that in my meals. ive never had it in shots, but for the tea i just peel the ginger root and add a few thin slices in warm water with lemon. sometimes after the ginger seeps in the warm water i will add ice (during the summer) ofc it doesn’t completely take away the pain, but it would b like taking an advil or something that kinda muffles it. also occasionally i’ll add green tea depending on if i’m wanting caffeine for the morning (though usually that makes my pain worse so i don’t seep it for too long if i do). ps if u haven’t had ginger before, i would not recommend tasting it in its raw form i.e don’t bite into it bcus the taste is verry strong haha
