Has Anyone Tried The Fentanyl Patch Or Ketamine For Pain? Did It Work For You? What Were Your Side Effects?

Who here has tried the Fentanyl patch or Ketamine for pain? My Nancy's Nook excision surgery, Dr. Fogelson said I may want to consider going off of my oral progesterone for a month before my endometriosis excision & myomectomy of fibroids, in order to stop suppressing my endometriosis growths. This would make them more obvious, which could result in a more thorough surgery.

But my endometrioma is back & I have many fibroids. 4 on the outside of my uterus, one of which is 6.5 cm, degenerating &amp… read more

The only thing I found that helps my pain is cbd pills orrrr smoking cbd that has 1:1 ration of CBD to THC my 80 plus year old fibromyalgia specialist suggested I start smoking weed for pain I was on every type of pain medicine they were prescribing me Norco monthly so my liver was all messed up! I didn’t know then that I had Endo but that was the ONLY thing that helped me with my period pains I would sit in a Epsom salt bath and smoke a joint. Which is what I’ll do this month once my period starts lol I hope you find something that helps is you don’t smoke but if you do decide to smoke Also only smoke Indica that has cbd in it sativa will make your mind and nerves go crazy which can worsen your pain symptoms. indica calms and relaxes your whole body and mind

My daughter was on a fentanyl patch for a year before her excision surgery because her intestinal pain prevented her from taking any oral pain meds. We were nervous about her being on the patch but now looking back it was a lifesaver and kept her out of the ER for relief meds. She is now off of the patch and is very thankful to have had the option to have used it when her pain levels were at their worst.

Pain patches that have narcotics in them work through through bloodstream not just like a lidocaine patch that only numbs and gives out the med where its applied. Fentanyl and butrans u place like on your arm and it goes through your skin into the entire bloodstream to give relief all over.

Hi! Patches dont work for me typically because the pain is too deep. I do like tens unit and im in a medicine called meloxicam (a nsaid) which is not an opioid and is usually for back pain. The only bad thing is that its takes a while to kick in but it helps! Good luck i hope you feel better.

My daughter was on a fentanyl patch for about 2 years. She was given the patch by a hematologist that diagnosed her with Mast cell. She had not been diagnosed with endo yet but I truly believe the patch saved my daughter from suicide because her pain was so bad and it had gone on for so long (she was unable to take oral meds because of digestive pain and had tried every other pain management tool/therapy we could find with little to no relief).
She started to see a pain specialist about 6 months before her excision surgery and he was able to wean her off of the patch about 6 months after her excision surgery. She still needs a hysterectomy (because of adenomyosis) and will need to go back on the patch for a short period of time, but the patch was truly life changing for her. There will be things you’ll have to be really careful of to warn you a little. You can NEVER cut the patch as it will cause an overdose (no one told us that but luckily I read the pamphlet front to back), you’ll need to watch your body temperature because sweating will make the patch release the meds faster (so no hot baths with patch on and be super careful where you put your heating pad if you use one), and this will be something that you work up to on your dose over time. My daughter had to work up to the dose that helped her over a months time.
I hope this has helped even a little. I hope you are able to find something that gives you the relief you deserve!💛
