First dr I saw recommended surgery. I waited 2+ years, I tried some birth controls. Ultimately we needed to see what was going on inside and I had major relief for a good 2-3 years after surgery. I wish I would’ve done it sooner.

I have cysts, polyps, a tumor, fibroids and fluids in and around my uterus and pelvic bone. And i guess a spot on my pelvic bone. My uterus and ovaries are enlaeged. And my endometrium lining is thickened. I have been bleeding for a year and a half. I honestly think its more than just endo. I havent even been biopsied yet. She just labeled it as that. I think so my insurance would cover the surgery. She said i needed it done to get stuff removed and a closer look at everything and scraped and biopsied. Im really scared.

Yes, my 1st obgyn did. Sometimes they'll suggest surgery 1st if the cyst is/are extremely big and causing terrible symptoms. If the cyst are small they'll suggest hormones quicker because they would want to "suppress them from getting bigger". But some small cyst can cause just as much horrible symptoms as bigger cyst. Each case is different. In my opinion I'd stay away from birth control. I would also rather stay away from surgery too because both can cause different things, you just have to choose what YOU feel is best for your situation queen. I'm trying the alternative route to tackle and/or maintain endo. Stay positive and hopeful!

Mine first suggested hormones.
1st time was when the symptoms first started and she wanted me on BC. I refused.

This year when she finally did scans and said she thinks it’s endo, she said I could try hormones first.

I refused and am electing lap surgery. I want to get well ASAP.

Someone on here also recommended strongly I do not go the hormone route, apparently it gave them some horrible side effects.

I’m also looking for a specialist. Don’t want my obgyn to perform the surgery if I can help it.
