Chest Pain
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, so I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 3 years ago and had surgery to remove it. My symptoms have started again in the last 8-10 months. However, in the last 6 months around the time I get ovary pain mid cycle and also around the time my period is about to start, I have been waking up with chest pain in the night. Really sharp, squeezing sensation, sometimes like I’ve been shocked awake
I have made a doctors appointment to speak to someone about it but I wondered if anyone else had… read more

Hey.
Yeah, I was hoping to find others who may have chest pain related to their cycles as that’s what I have been experiencing in the last 6 months. Apparently women who have endometriosis are something like 50% more likely to have heart problems so really wanted to find someone who was experiencing these chest pains too as it’s quite scary 😟
I had excision too, they said they got “all” of it but clearly it has grown back. I am quite lucky and although my pain gets quite bad I can just about manage it with a mixture of paracetamol, ibuprofen and head pads/hot water bottles.
I went private too after 8 years of getting nowhere with my GP and it’s as amazing, they basically diagnosed me straight away then referred me back to the NHS for surgery. I hope you manage to get some more answers with your doctor. It seems to just be one of those things that we are going to have to deal with forever :( x

Was it the ablation laparoscopy or the excision one. I dont really know much about after the recurrance rate on the ablation but the excision they say can last 5 years but im not sure cuz iv had excision and 7 months on my pain is sort of back even on normal days like i did before and also my cycle is bad too sometimes not as bad but sone cycles are really painful and yes im still on my high dose medication. I too have a appointment in jan iv chosen to hsve all treatment private through the nhs which us good bcuz the waiting time is shorter but i need to change my surgeon due to the lack of care and treatment im recieving. Im sorry this post is long but i hope its some what answered ur question x

Hey, I had a laparoscopy.
Seems quite common for it to come back, pretty much all my symptoms have returned!
