Has Anyone Tried Shepherd’s Purse For Long Bleeding?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I do not want to stay on birth control, but it was prescribed to me when I had 18 days of heavy bleeding last month. I’ve just found some information on shepherds purse being helpful for Endo bleeding and I’m wondering if anyone has had luck with it? I do have a thyroid condition so I’m not sure if I should even take it, but I don’t know what I’ll do if I ever have to endure 20 days I’m of bleeding again.

It could be worth a try to help. I have not tried myself. I'm sorry your doctor hasn't been very helpful. Endometriosis can lead to heavy periods but is often not the cause of prolonged bleeding. Have you been evaluated for adenomyosis, polyps or fibroids? Sometimes getting close to menopause can also cause long periods. ❤ hope you get better help from your doctor. I hate that they always throw birth control at every problem.

I’ve had three ultrasounds in the past six months that are all normal - I’ve also had them ordered by two separate doctors and neither one has seen fibroids or cysts. They suspect I have endo, one even suggested adenomyosis, but because my blood work and pelvic exams are all normal they seemed to think that with the birth control appearing to work they don’t want to order a laparoscopy. I’m 28 and want to try conceiving soon so birth control definitely is not preferred 🙄
