Slightly Private But Does Anyone Get Terrible Pain During And After Sex To The Point They Never Want It Again?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I can only describe the pain as contraptions, this could last from during the act to 24 hours after. I also bleed quite heavily too, had anyone experienced this or have any ways to help?
I could quite easily go without sex for the rest of my life but when your in a relationship it happens. It can sometimes take me 3-4 days to recover from it.

I used to have pain every time I had sex until I had two laparoscopic excision surgeries. Both helped immensely, and yes it did make me alter my patterns to take meds an hour or so before sex. I would always initiate sex out of fear it could hurt and deny my husband when he ask. He knew because of endo and being a SA survivor that I would always say no and I had to initiate to feel "safe". I would suggest that if sex causes you that much distress, don't have it. If you can take muscle relaxants and pain meds an hour before that helps me a lot if you do want to continue to have sex. But, it is your choice. You are not obligated in any way shape or form to engage in painful intercourse cause you are in a relationship and there are so many other ways to be intimate without painful penetrative sex. I also would have pain for days, but had sex so frequently, I really did not know how painful it was until I stopped as much...

Yes i hsve pain too. Its awful!!! Mine are associated with orgasms. Which sucks because that should be a good thing. I usually put on my heating belt and take pain medication afterwards. I really need to do a better job at preping before but who thinks about those type of things on a daily basis when you’re in the mood. It sucks that we have to go the extra mile to do that. I also have a massager that I use on my stomach and back that helps but I am looking for other ways to alleviate my pain

Yes, very frequently, and it is causing intimacy problems in my marriage. My husband is afraid to touch me even though I tell him when it’s ok or tolerable. Even external stimulation to the point of orgasm cause deep infiltrating pain. It just sucks! We’ve been together 18 years and he’s seen the curtailing of my abilities but I also feel unattractive and like an old, dried up, crusty lady that isn’t desirable anymore.

All the time! Most of the time it will cause me to have tears stream down my face! Thankfully, my husband is very understanding and patient and he never pressures me to have it!
