I recently had surgery to remove a large endometrioma cyst, ovary and tube. The surgeon also removed (via lap excision) endo throughout pelvic region and an attachment to bowel. Doctor is suggesting aggressive treatment to prevent it from coming back. He suggested Lupron and Letrozole, which I refused due to side effects. Mirena IUD also an option but I really don't want an IUD.
We settled on lo lo estrin, but want to do research before even starting this. I feel a non estrogen pill would have… read more
I use LoEstrin (Lo LoEstrin's big sister) and it has worked pretty well for me. I am stage 4 and started taking it right before my lap, which was in November 2015-- so I've been on it for almost two… read more
I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe since March. First 3 months my period was crazy, but the last 3 months I haven't had a period at all. I can't be pregnant for my Fallopian tubes have been removed.
Yes, my doctor actually put me on it to stop my periods. Was having breakthrough bleeding on other pills and Lo Loestrin 24 FE stopped that almost immediately.
I had a terrible experience with Sprintec and switched to lo loestrin fe and it has been better but I'm still having fairly bad side effects and am trying to look at all my options.
I was on this. It barely helped my Endo pain. I also discovered this made me nauseous. This was my first and only bc I've ever been on so I am skewed.
Hi Everyone, I am new here. I found out I had endometriosis when they ran a test during my fibroid removal surgery in March. My OBGYN suggested Lo Loestrin because before my period I get really bad fatigue which makes working difficult. I also have super heavy periods and I always have to be near a bathroom which also makes working difficult.
I have never been on birth control before so before I fill the prescription, I was wondering what everyone's experiences were with Lo Loestrin and if it… read more
It didn’t help me either.
Im going to college in a few months and im scared that endo will hold me back, any suggestions or advice on how to manage endo at school?
Hi Celia
I'd definitely recommend getting prescription for meds advised by your gynaec (painkiller/BC/Visanne/supplements), as well as have non-medical pain management systems in place --electric … read more
Hi everyone! I had a laparoscopy on May 19th that confirmed what I already suspected: I have stage 1 endo. A week after the surgery, I got my period and it lasted 7 days. Two days later, I started bleeding again and haven't stopped for over 5 weeks now (6 1/2 including the original 7 days). I went to two gynecologists (one who did the surgery and a new one who supposedly specializes in endo) and both said that this sometimes happens to patients after their surgery. It's been a few weeks since… read more
Thank you for posting this question. I didn't know a heavy period was normal after surgery. I've been on loestrin since my last lap in february, and my first period lasted two weeks. The doctor had me… read more
I just want to know what type of heat pad does everyone like l. I am attached to my heat pad, but keep buying a new one every 6 months. And the ones from walmart and drug stores are super cheap.
I have one electric heat pad that I picked up a Walmart that i use at home. When I'm at work or want to go out I use the ThermaCare air activated disposable heat pads (also found at Walmart or… read more
I’ve read some not so good reviews with this birth control but this is what my doctor wants me to get on. Does anyone have any experience with this BC
Ah, sorry. I never took that one. However, Nuvaring gave me the best four months of my life. Really light periods. But then I had a blood clot to my lungs and couldn’t take estrogen anymore.
I've used an electric and microwave heating pad extensively to deal with endometriosis pain in my low back. Now the skin in that area is darker and blotchy. Is this something to be concerned about?
It has a particular name, I got it when my IUD was playing up and I was attached to my hot water bottle, your blood vessels like permanently dialate from the heat. A lot of endo sisters have it and… read more
I am currently taking Diane 35 which seems to work well for my endometriosis but has caused a lot of fluid retention and bloating. I have also had issues with my breasts increasing by at least a whole cup size. It is getting really frustrating and uncomfortable. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks RJ
