Endometrial Ablation
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had multiple procedures recently. I am 21 years old and I had an endometrial ablation, tubal, removal of endometriosis, and cyst removal. This procedure was about 2 weeks ago and I'm concerned. I have already had a uterine infection and had to take really strong antibiotics. I'm having a full period now with large clots and excruciating pain. From what I've been reading this looks like the procedure didn't work and it's only going to get worse. Does anyone have experience with the ablation? I… read more

Painful Day
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know I have not been on in awhile. I am having a horrible day. The pain started yesterday and is so bad today I had to stay home from work. I have been in bed all day took my prescription pain meds and nothing is helping. I have no insurance to go back to the dr right now. Are there any options out there for me just until I can get insurance when open enrollment begins. I am tired of hurting and it affecting my life

Fear Of Everything - Having A Couple Of Bad Days!!
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Dear All
I am 48, I started my periods when I was 11 and started bleeding from my umbilicous when I was 17. I bleed vaginally as well each period but have apprx 2 periods each month, and have done so ever since for the last 20 years. I am now flooding each week and I'm convinced I also have fibroids. I am currently having to take some annual leave to get me through these grotty days - I have been threatened with the sack in view of the amount of time I have had to take off work (much of it… read more

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

Yeah, please clarify what pill. Anything that affects your hormones just masks symptoms but does not stop endo from growing and spreading. I'm a huge fan of excision surgery and two friends of mine… read more

Mirena And Visanne Combo?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone
I’m a 19 year old who was diagnosed w stage 2 in my bowel, pouch of Douglas, uterus and cervix! I had an excision late in dec last year and was put on mirena iud. This has helped immensely but I am still in pain every day, and my periods are still awfully heavy! I have been told to take visanne on top of the iud to fix this and to stop getting a period altogether. Has anyone had this experience before? I’m terrified of gaining weight and not sure how I feel about double dosing… read more

Drs Preferring Meds Over Surgery?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor is really pushing me to keep trying to stick to meds (Lupron-depot) over getting surgery... like until I need a hysterectomy after I’ve had kids... wayyyy in the future... but I am in excruciating pain and keep asking about excision surgery and she never answers if she even does it, she just says ‘meds are better than scar tissue’ is it time for a second opinion?
