After reading a lot of peopleās stories on here, Iām starting to doubt getting the surgery from seeing so many women having more problems after surgery than before. I really want to be able to have a baby and I do have āsimpleā and ācomplexā ovarian cyst that go up and down in size also they said I have āendometriomasā on my ovaries through MRI at my first hospital stay last November. Im not sure if those are the ones that grew into the complex cyst I have now? Iām so confused now with all myā¦ read more
I had laparoscopic ablation surgery every three-5 months for two years. I had a lot of relief for about a month or 2. which considering my situation was a big deal. After the last procedure The doctorā¦ read more
I had a hysterectomy on the 5th and still have really loose stool and cramping. I know it has only been 3 weeks but I'm feeling good otherwise. Just don't know if the endometriosis could have went somewhere else. Asked my Dr and all she said is it's rare for that to happen.
Did you also have excision??
I decided to try to educate myself. I read this book called," the doctor will see you now," by Dr. Seckin. He talks about deep excision laparoscopy is the gold standard for endometrial tissue. It doesn't create scar tissue un the way a laser does. So my question is- are there any Ob/gyns in the Pittsburgh, pa area that that specialize in excision-(cutting) laparoscopies?
Hey there, Iām in Pa too and the only excision specialists Iāve found nearby-ish are in NY.
I had excision surgery last May, almost 8 months ago. My doctor removed a cyst and scraped out the endo she found around my tubes and ovaries. She said it looked good afterwards, and they even checked for blockage inside my tubes. They gave me the okay about having children and everything sounded good. I'm on a birth control pill to keep the endo from coming back too quickly, but I still feel like I'm experiencing the chronic fatigue and breast pain and muscle soreness that I had with the endoā¦ read more
Iāve had laparoscopic surgery to burn off endo before but Iāve never had laparoscopic excision surgery where they cut it out at the root. This specialist is about 3 hours away from me and she said she would be checking from the diaphragm all the way down to the uterus and cervix. Iāve never had a surgeon be this thorough before. Iām nervous yet excited. Any tips on recovery?
Ohh good luck!! Iāve got my surgery tomorrow! Also nervous yet excited. If I have tips later I let you knowš
I am 4 months post op next week. I was wondering for anyone whoās undergone laparoscopy when does the swelling and pains go away? My lower belly is still swollen and tender to touch. My incision scars still hurt and I feel like my recovery is taking a very very long time. I feel like I canāt recognize my body anymore and itās taken a toll mentally. I wonder if anyone else recovery taken this long and does anyone know when it starts to go back to normal?
So sorry to read several answers with the same problem. I had my laparoscopy on Sept. 20 and nothing was wrong, no pain, no swelling at all :(. I live in Tbilisi, Georgia š¬šŖ and had a really goodā¦ read more
I had surgery for endo 5 years ago. It wasn't by a true endo specialist, but she was pretty good and a lot of the severe pain went away. It's gotten worse over time, but I'm doing okay. I have flare-ups that are bad (not always related to my period) but I also have times when I'm doing pretty well. I do have a pretty constant pulling on my right side, though.
My worse symptom currently is hormonal. I have horrible pmdd/depression. I get my period every three weeks.

Thanks! Yeah, it's more hormonal, but I can't be on any hormones, so really there's nothing to control it. :(
My endometriosis specialist and general surgeon are planning to remove two endometriosis masses from my abdominal cavity, but the general surgeon says heāll be making an up and down incision. I have never had an incision like that, Iām very nervous about not knowing what to expect during recovery. Can anyone tell me about their experience recovering from an incision cut that way?
No Iām sorry to hear:( Iām sure it will go well :)
37 years old, Stage IV endo, left tube and ovary removed last May due to huge endometrioma, persistent pain on that side, not looking to have more kids. Day one and two are typically beyond miserable.
So my dr has recommended a hysterectomy (cervix, uterus) but leaving the right ovary so I wouldnāt go into menopause but wouldnāt have monthly periods. Weāve tried combination pills, progestin only pills, nuvaring, all with little effect.
I know it wonāt cure endo but any thoughts on theā¦ read more
