I am I wandering what are your experiences with birth control pills? I am currently on the Mirena ... I have over 2 weeks periods, back pain, fatigue and mostly and don't really love life anymore ... I always had trouble with the pills. It alwayls gave me anxiety and depression to some degree. The problem is, with endometriosis you sort of have to be on hormones if you don't want the pain ... so I was wandering if any of you had experience with Lybrel (or Amethyst the generic)? any mood… read more

Because of my PCOS and endometriosis, I suffer from chronic pain and anemia which has led to significant weight gain (more than 60 lbs, 20 of it in the last 3 months). Now I’m going for a full hysterectomy in April and beginning hrt shortly afterward. I would appreciate any advice and/personal experiences. Thank you!

I am curious if anyone has tried testosterone to treat endo symptoms? NIH study published last year showed low T in utero is one of the greatest predicting factors for development of Endo. There are also other medical studies showing that women with the Diagnosis are much more likley to have low testosterone levels than control groups. I’ve had chest pain most of my adult life that comes and goes, I only mentioned it once to my doctor at the time, he told me it wasn’t possible to feel pain like I described. I noticed it seemed to come with or shortly after my period and assumed it was just one more symptom of pms that I had to cope with. Last year I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I wonder how I'm still alive ?!

I have been diagnosed with endo in 2018 (I had it for longer than that, just took a lifetime to get diagnosed). The first step was to be put on birth control, which my first was Zoely. and asbolute nightmare. Mood swings, depression, lots of issues. Got a laparoscopy last year in June, and was hoping to get off the pill, but doc said no, unless I want a baby. I have several lumps in my pelvis that can be felt through my skin. They have been there about 18 months and get larger and more painful around my period.

I've had ultrasounds in the past (before endo diagnosis) and was told on each occasion that the lumps are swollen lymph nodes.

I've since been diagnosed with endometriosis, which was found in various areas of my pelvis.

My consultant thinks the lumps may be inguinal endo (apparently wouldn't show during usual lap) but wants to wait another… read more

On visanne since Nov 2023. Had bleeding last Mar 10 until now. Mar 17 I was rushed to the ER due to severe abdominal pain. Had CT Scan and turns out I now have acute cholecystitis (inflammation of gallbladder). Just wondering if Visanne had anything to do with this?

I had surgery in September for removal of cyst off both ovaries and when they got inside they found a lot of endometriosis they also removed my appendix because it was so diseased. They also placed the mirena to help. After surgery they told me I should feel 100% better. Well I didn’t. They sent me to pelvic floor therapy and I completed 6 sessions, the therapist stopped treatment because I was showing no improvement.
