I started taking visanne 7-8 weeks ago and had a noticeable reduction in pain however my first cycle while on the medication hasnt stopped and I'm going on 4 weeks. My gyno is suggesting I tough it out since it's working to reduce pain but I'm inclined to stop if the bleeding continues. Everything I've read so far about visanne indicates your period should become lighter and maybe even disappear so I'm wondering if anyone else had this side effect and was there a way to stop the bleeding?
Mine was 3 month then I had to stop it
I wanna know if someone who is going through what I am going through. I'm on Visanne from 4 months, my periods have stopped completely now. The pain is almost gone too. But when it hurts it hurts really really bad. And I am really really sleepy that whole time. I've been in pain from the last 3 days. And all I wanna do is sleep. I haven't taken any painkiller so its not because of that too. But the thing is I cant sleep properly too. cuz the pain is too much. If anyone else is going through this… read more
I stopped visanne three months ago, my period started again very quickly, I’ve had two periods now. When I was on Visanne I felt very emotionally flat and it didn’t help my fatigue. It reduced the… read more
My first period since my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for stage 4 endometriosis on my bowels and uterus is due on Monday - I've heard first periods after are extremely painful, and my surgeon tells me to "pre load" with painkillers - has anyone else been through this? Can anyone tell me what to expect?
By “safe foods” I mean the things I tolerate best when I’m having a flare up. I have intestinal Endo and certain foods I cannot tolerate at all during my period (almost like I need to be vegan 2 weeks… read more
I’m 3 weeks late and have taken multiple pregnancy tests- all negative. I know periods can be abnormal post-lap but when is it too long for it to just be a “missed period”?
Hopefully u get relief soon
Hey all! It’s been 5 weeks since I’ve had my first laparoscopic surgery along with a DNC. I just ended my first period since the surgery which sucked major ass but im curious what everyone else’s experiences have been after their first period after the surgery as well as experience after their first surgery? I still don’t feel like the surgery has helped. I have pain still so I don’t know if that’s because I’m still healing? TIA
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member thank you for the feedback! I’m trying to take it easy, I’ve been living on the heating pad haha that seems to make things much easier! How far apart were each of your… read more
I am having surgery to remove the scar tissue and while I am asleep, they want to put an IUD in as well. I am super nervous about the IUD and want to know if there are side effects, and if the IUD is a good route to go.
For me i get hot flashes off and on from my endometriosis.
I recently had surgery for endometriosis and an drainage of ovarian cyst I had low interior bowel resection as my endometriosis bowel nodule was huge 11-12cms the surgeon thought the size was impressive I was just glad the thing was out as it was also pulling my uterus down
So is it normal that your first period after surgery should be heavy with large blood clots i didnt have that experience with a previous gynecological surgery of ovarian cyst removal
I'm just monitoring the bleeding and… read more
I didn’t have the same surgery, but did experience clots after mine.
I suggest checking in with your doctor to ease your mind if nothing else and keep monitoring :)
Hope your recovery goes well đź’›
On Aug 1st I had endometriosis laparoscopic surgery. I got first period on aug 14th and after that I didn't get my periods. For this surgery doctor suggested 3 injections for every month. I took that on aug1st, sep 1st, oct 1st. When I called and asked doctor about my periods they said until your injection power goes down then you get periods.
But I didn't get periods and am gaining weight.
Well it sounded like a possibility lol
I had my 1st laparoscopy and Mirena coil insertion 3 weeks ago, but bleeding (not spotting) has continued and I'm wondering when it stops?? Im also taking microgynon for the past two months. Also the morning pain flare ups are quite the nuisance. not sure if all this is normal or part of the normal recovery?
I'm sorry you're going through this - I completely relate! I had the surgery and UID insertion about a month ago and haven't stopped bleeding since. Sometimes lighter and sometimes heavy clots… read more
