I have been diagnosed with endo and had the scope with laser to remove the cells a year ago. I’ve been using bc as a hormone therapy for a long time. I’ve been doing research into holistic remedies along with medication. Has anyone looked into changing diet/a special diet? Any advice or things that worked?
I gave up wheat and instantly my cramps reduced from a 9 to a 1 out of 10. Still have other symptoms but helpful with the pain.
I'm not ready to consider surgery and have been trying birth control without much luck so far. I started an anti-inflammatory diet in January that made me feel a lot better for the three weeks I stuck with it, but the cooking/recipe learning curve and different grocery shopping habits were too overwhelming to keep up with. Now I have a new plan to gradually return to anti-inflammatory eating by late this fall. No dairy, sugar, gluten, alcohol, caffeine, red meat, or processed/canned/box foods. The willpower to stick to it is actually easy in my experience; as soon as you feel the difference for yourself you realize how it's worth it. Changing habits and learning the shopping and cooking skills is the hard part for me, but I'm working on it.
Check out Dr Sandra Cabot’s on line book on Endometriosis. Change in diet can make a massive difference. A Gluten free & Dairy free helps a lot with pain :))
