Hi everyone. I am 40 and was diagnosed 20 years ago with severe endometriosis. I have had many laporoscopies, my last one was 12 years ago. A couple of weeks ago I was taken off of the pill (continuous use) after 10 years. After the appointment I sat in my car and cried. I reluctantly went with the IUD and it has since been removed. I am back on the pill. The IUD sucked for me. Horrible cramping and spotting. Had it in less than a year. Not my thing. I hope whatever decision you make helps. Good luck, feel better.
What did you decide or what worked for you? I'm in the same boat at the moment.
Thank you guys for your thoughts and feelings. I am still a little unsure which direction I am going. I am super afraid of the IUD as I am already in constant pain and don't want any more cramping and/or a foreign object in my body and as for the Lupron I don't remember is being as awful as the Depo was for me. It was so many years ago. I have to make decision soon. I wish more than anything she would put me back on the pill.
I've gotten a laparoscopy and started Lupron immediately after. The first 3 months are hell because "its flushing the hormones out causing a flare of endometriosis" according to my doctor. It's horrible and I don't recommend it. It's a band aid for a permanent problem.
I have an IUD. Paraguard. No hormones. I love it. Buy now bc of my endo they are putting me on a pill to help and I'm petrified of going on a pill!
