A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm 22 years old and have tried multiple failed medicines to help. After surgery, the pain returned after 4 months. I have pain all the way to my shoulder and trouble breathing just walking up the stairs. I don't want to "self diagnose" it in chest cavity but want the option to be looked into at least. My normal gyno diagnosed me, but I'd like to look into other opinions. Thank you

Leaving this here in case anyone comes back to this thread - I've had 4x pnuemothorax on approx. the first day of my period over the last 3 months. It took me awhile to figure out what might be going on. I didn't notice the association with my period at first and I didn't know that I might have endo. The only way we knew this could be the issue was that my lung was collapsing. Doctors aren't optimistic about finding the tissue in surgery, bc it's hard to find. Unless your lung is collapsing treatment is typically via birth control or getting pregnant -- which stops the tissue from growing assuming it's there.

So far my doctors have had to rule out any other possibilities beforehand. Emg, uc on back and shoulder, X-rays, just be sure to emphasize when the pain begins because that makes a huge difference. If it is worse during you periods etc but they basically will have to find nothing else wrong to even consider removal...

Awesome! I really hope he can help. :-) I'm glad you could get in quickly too. I had to wait over 2 mos to see my doc and he was over 6 hrs away. Lol
